Faezeh Nikoozad is a filmmaker and video artist based in Hamburg. Her work often begins with intimate personal experiences and explores how political and social realities can be experienced through personal stories. Working across documentary film, video art, and installation, she uses images to approach emotions, memories, and forms of knowledge that often remain beyond the reach of words.

Her debut feature documentary In Between, a Place (wt. Portrait of a Friendship), which premiered at Visions du Réel in 2026, grew out of a thirteen-year filmed correspondence between the artist and her two closest friends. Through their friendship, the film reflects on migration, exile, and belonging. Developed over several years, the project participated in DOK Leipzig Preview International (2025), received the DAE Award at Docs-in-Progress at the Marché du Film, Festival de Cannes (2024), and was selected for the CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator (2023).

She studied filmmaking at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK). Her films and video works have been presented internationally at festivals and exhibitions including Festival dei Popoli, Kasseler Dokfest, Kino der Kunst, VIDEOFORMES, and the Berlin Biennale.
